Well, it’s been a month and I’ve been visiting Dr Zak’s Pumping Iron Fitness Gym every day (except Sundays as they are closed!) for my weight loss workouts.
Every day I try to do a minimum of 30 minutes on the cross-trainer and at first I found this very boring (man, cardio is SOOO BORING!), I tried to find ways to alleviate my boredom with movies or downloaded Netflix shows on my phone but found that the time still dragged.
That was until I decided to incorporate one of my passions… GAMING!
I found a way to sync up a Wii Controller to my Samsung Tablet and installed a retro gaming app called Retroarch. I installed a game called 2048 where you have to use the arrow keys to combine numbered tiles (2+4=4, 4+4=8 etc) till you reach 2048, so easy to play and makes the time fly by.
I also got myself some boxing gloves and hit the boxing bag a few times, I don’t really know what I’m doing but it’s still fun, especially when I have some old school gangsta rap playing in my headphones.
I post my cross trainer summer every day on my Instagram @endofbigkyri together with a few memes (which I love making. haha) and a few inspirational words to help me keep track and stay focussed.
I’ve lost nearly a stone since I started, but since my scales keep giving me different weights every time I step on them, it’s not a reliable source of measurement. But at this point, I just want to do some cardio to shift the weight and also be sensible with what I eat. I’m not on a diet per se but I know sugary treats and drinks are out, also cutting down on bread and things I know are bad for my weight loss journey.
I’m feeling good though and eager to keep it up, also the “Likes” and words of encouragement from people following me on Instagram and friends on Facebook has made a difference with motivation. Thanks guys.
Again I would like to thank Dr Zak, Nondas and all the guys at Pumping Iron for helping me with my fitness goals. Without you, I wouldn’t be able to do this.
